Skip's Story
Where It Started
Farm-Built Work Ethic
Skip Walker grew up on a farm in Missouri — the kind of upbringing where you learn to fix things with your hands before you learn anything else. Metal, machinery, and problem-solving weren't skills he picked up in a classroom. They were part of daily life. That foundation — the discipline, the patience, the refusal to cut corners — is still the backbone of every job he takes on today.
The Craft
30+ Years in Marine Metal
Skip has been working marine metals for over three decades. He's welded, fabricated, repaired, and polished everything from beat-up Jon boats to multi-million dollar superyachts. Over the years he's developed a specialty that sets him apart: mirror-polished stainless steel fabrication — what the industry calls Yacht Jewelry. It's the kind of work that requires patience, precision, and an eye for perfection that most welders simply don't have.
Fort Lauderdale
Home Port
Fort Lauderdale is the yachting capital of the world, and Skip has been part of that world for years. Based in South Florida, he works on vessels of every size — from freshwater bass boats trailered in from up north to 100-foot-plus superyachts docked in the marina. Every client gets the same thing: honest work, fair pricing, and a finished product that exceeds expectations.
How Skip Works
THE STANDARD
No shortcuts
Every weld is done right or it's done again. There's no such thing as good enough when someone's safety or vessel is on the line.
All metals, all sizes
Steel, aluminum, stainless, brass, bronze, copper, copper-nickel — Skip works them all. Jon boats to superyachts, no job is too small or too large.
Yacht Jewelry standard
Even repair work gets finished to a high standard. If it's going on a boat, it should look like it belongs there.
